Paul is a highly respected economist with many years of expertise in business economics, resource economics and public policy. He is a former associate professor of the University of Western Australia (UWA) where he held a number of senior roles including, Executive Dean of the Faculties of Education, Economics and Commerce and Law and of the UWA Business School. Paul has special expertise in impact analysis, cost benefit analysis, hedonic price analysis, policy evaluation and industry analysis and has published articles and reports across a wide area of applied economics. Paul has served on numerous State Government reviews committees, including inquiries into land transport deregulation, the operation of Stateships, future development options for the Port of Fremantle, fishing industry licensing reviews, and management of water and natural resources.
